My Project

I am a third grade teacher in a rural western New York district. I have been working to ensure that digital citizenship is part of our elementary students curriculum. Using the model curriculum provided through Common Sense Media, along with technology state standards, my third graders are working to develop a foundation of internet skills that will help them be successful their whole lives through.

Todays child is faced with a whole new world- the internet.

There can be such amazing opportunities and growth, but there can be real risk factors out there. As adults, we tend to think that kids are more savvy than we are and can figure it out on their own. This is proving to not be the case, they need our support! These picture books will help them understand big issues and make it all much more relatable and clear.
