This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?
The iPads will provide students with access to interactive tools, multimedia resources, and engaging apps tailored to history education.
Features like virtual timelines, augmented reality experiences, and interactive maps will allow students to explore historical events and cultures in an immersive and meaningful way. These devices will foster critical thinking and collaboration by enabling students to conduct research, create digital presentations, and participate in dynamic group activities. With personalized learning opportunities, each student can engage with the content at their own pace, ensuring a deeper understanding of historical concepts.
What are your goals for this project?
The primary goal of this project is to enhance student engagement and comprehension by incorporating technology that brings history to life. Specific objectives include enabling students to interact with historical content through innovative apps and tools and promoting critical thinking and analytical skills by exploring primary sources and historical data.
Other goals are encouraging creativity through student-led projects like digital documentaries or interactive timelines and providing equitable access to digital resources for all students, ensuring no one is left behind in the learning process.
What makes your students special?
My students are curious, motivated, and eager to learn, but many come from diverse backgrounds and face unique challenges. They are a resilient group who thrive when given the opportunity to explore and express themselves creatively. Despite limited access to technology outside of school, they consistently demonstrate a passion for understanding the past and its relevance to the present. By supporting this project, you are empowering a group of remarkable learners to embrace innovative educational tools and unlock their full potential as future historians, leaders, and critical thinkers.
