This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a lower income community that has a lot of violence and tragic situations. Often the students feel school is the only safe place for them. My job is to provide a quality education and make sure they feel empowered and confident.
I have a class of 22 wonderful children.
They attend a great school that is in a lower income community in the Bay Area. They are motivated to learn, but come often with little background knowledge and have a difficulty connecting to the mandated curriculum.
My Project
I am requesting a digital camera. The camera will be used for class projects, such as books, posters, and science projects. The students will be able and connect the curriculum to their own experiences. They will have a deeper connection to the work they do, and it will motivate them to create high quality work.
Having a high quality digital camera will improve my classroom dramatically.
I have many projects that I like to do where being able to use pictures would greatly improve the lesson. We have one school camera, and it is often being used by someone else. Having a camera in the classroom will give me the freedom to have more creative lessons, and give my students the opportunity to be proud of the work they do.
