Digital Camcorder for Middle School Chorus

My Students

My students love to watch their performances! Our only problem, we have a very old VHS recorder that doesn't work too well. We would love to be able to record and watch our performances in a digital format.

Our school consists of 950 students in grades 6-8.

We are in a rural community just a few miles away from a military base. We are in one of fastest growing school districts as many new subdivisions are being built each year. Having a way to successfully document our performances is very important to our students and their families. So often, parents of my students are deployed and would love to be able to see their child perform. Unfortunately, we have no means to share our performances with them at the present time.

My Project

Through the use of this new digital camcorder, my students will be able to watch and evaluate their concert rehearsals and performances. Using these recordings as a evaluation tool will teach my students how to better present themselves at their performances. Also, this will allow us a way to share our performances with family members that are deployed in the service of our country.

If this project is funded, my students will have many years of enjoyment watching their rehearsals and performances.

They will gain valuable insight on how to present themselves to their audience. Through this kind of evaluation, my students will become better performers.
