My Students

Unique, brilliant, and motivated high school/early college students from Newark, NJ, preparing for an ever-changing world. My students are future community leaders, business entrepreneurs, college graduates and can achieve all of their goals! They are Newark Strong! They are amazing!

My Project

In my 9-12th grade history classes, students will be engaging with primary and secondary sources and learning how to digitize archives to make them accessible to a wider audience. I want my students to be able to engage with sources but also take advantage of the new digital skills they've learned this past academic year during virtual learning.

With this digital work station, students will have to access to a document scanner and portable document camera where they can digitize primary sources and also lead live workshops and presentations to their classmates and community, online and in person.

Both camera and scanner will be placed on a rising standing desk to provide comfort and accessibility for all of my students, regardless of ability. This includes students with mobility issues and those that need to stand and move around the classroom.
