Help me give my students digital resources that they can use at home and at school.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Nieves's classroom raised $275
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from different walks of life. Some were born outside the U.S. without any knowledge of the English language while others were born here, but their English skills are still developing. They all share many commonalities. They are English Language Learners; they are excited to learn and they come to school with hope, enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.
I teach in an urban school where ninety-seven percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch.
In addition, they live in an area that is heavily populated and where there is a large volume of traffic. Although it is a struggle for them, they put forth all their energy in learning and building both their literacy and language skills.
My Project
For this proposal I am requesting gift certificates to TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers). TPT offers many digital activities that can be used both at home and at school. I am hoping to purchase digital activities for math and reading/phonics.
It's highly important for children to have access to meaningful activities that can be done anywhere.
Last March, we were not prepared to not go back. Therefore, after about 3 weeks, all the worksheets we gave out were completed. It was difficult to have them complete exercises because the majority of the student do not have a printer. Many teachers have created digital resources that can be added to our google classrooms. This way, all children will have access both in our classroom and their home. In addition, students that are going completely remote, can have access to the same materials that the hybrid groups will have.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
