Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Accessing written content can be difficult for students with reading issues and second language learners. This heavy cognitive load can cause students to become discouraged and disengaged. This inequity can be addressed by providing access to audio books and content. Through use of headphones students can listen to the content while reading without disrupting other students.
Headphones will allow students to engage meaningfully with the content at their own pace.
This will empower students to engage meaningfully with classroom texts and provide a level playing field for students with special needs as well as second language learners.
