Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have always been a firm believer of the quote "It takes a village to raise a child." And being a classroom teacher I am constantly trying to provide my learners with the most beneficial, equitable education experience as I set the groundwork of their future. These multicultural learners are relying on the aid of a school community to guide them to achieve their full potential and I have been blessed to have the privilege to be their conductor for this ride!

I have been so fortunate to be a second grade ENL teacher of students who consistently rise to the challenge!

My students come from various nations, including Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Israeli, Albania and more. These students began 2nd grade with very little understanding of the English language and grade level academics. Currently, these little go-getters are working hard to achieve all goals they set their mind to and I know that the sky is the limit.

My Project

Being in such a technologically savvy world, tablets and computers are one of the most versatile pieces of technology today. Since most students are familiar with navigating a cell phone and tablets. A laptop that provides both tablet capabilities and laptop capabilities will help the students reinforce their reading and writing skills while getting exposure to the more technological side of the technology world. I want my students to be exposed to all realms of technology I feel with taking a tool they are interested in and aligning it with a computer will help introduce essential keyboarding skills as well while providing additional opportunities and exposure in today's ever-changing society.

With this surface and keyboard, my students will be able to move away from the simplicity of a tablet to familiarity with a computer with keyboarding.
