My Students

My students are always so excited to learn! They come to school with a positive attitude and are ready to tackle whatever comes their way! Any time something new is introduced, my students have lots of questions and want to understand as much about the topic as possible. They also love to read! I think most of them would just read all day, if they could!

I teach a diverse group of students who have different life experiences.

Some of my students are fortunate to have traveled and have gone to museums to learn about topics they are interested in. Other students have not had this opportunity. I believe each of my students deserve access to every resource possible in order to enhance their education.

My Project

I want to change the way my students learn about science and social studies concepts. Instead of reading boring textbooks and using resources that are too difficult, I want to provide my students with books they understand and can relate to.

We have limited resources for our science and social studies standards and need additional support to increase student understanding.

Our standards changed recently and we have minimal resources and a short amount of time available for teaching this content. I would like to have a collection of books my students can utilize during free time or stamina reading that are engaging, but also supplement what they have already been taught during our science/social studies block.
