My students are an awesome group of 3rd grade service workers. We are Team Paws! It's our goal to change the world with kindness. Even the smallest kind act can mean a lot; hold the door, smile at someone, use your manners, be humble, and be kind, always.
Not only that, but my girls and boys are our nation's next scientists, teachers, engineers, factory workers, cashiers, managers, doctors, explorers, and more.
They are our world's next inventors of things, makers of stuff, and seekers of truth. My kids are capable of changing the world with their smart brains and bright ideas. My kids leaders, growers, and learners.
For this project, my students will learn that science and math go hand-in-hand as they work daily on Chromebooks with and adaptive math program while I lead guided math and science lessons in small groups.
My Project
If ever I have written a dream project, this is it! I am very excited about helping my students build their confidence and exhibit success in all academic areas, especially those related to science and math. For this project, I will use Reflex Math, an interactive, online program for kids, during daily guided math sessions, along with the Chromebooks and accessories requested in this project.
Science and math go hand-in-hand.
This project will allow my students use an adaptive math program, Reflex Math, on Chromebooks while I work with their peers in small groups, focusing on concepts related to science and math. Adding these amazing resource to my classroom will give my students a step ahead in these important academic areas.
With Chromebooks, wireless headphones, wireless mice, and Reflex Math's interactive program, I can put extra support right at my students' fingertips. With a class of 30 kids, all of varying needs, the ability to do so is crucial to ensure their success, proficiency, and growth because the Reflex Math program is adaptive, meaning it meets a child's needs right where he or she is at. Using Reflex Math and the Chromebooks I am requesting will change the face of my classroom.
Now picture this: Small groups of students rotating the room and engaging in activities that focus on science and math. One center is with me, another is using the Chromebooks to strengthen their skills using Reflex Math, and the others are student-led centers that allow kids to engage in hands-on activities that help to strengthen their skills.
