This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have a range of special needs, which include academics and behavior. They are eager to learn and succeed in school. My students work with multiple intervention teachers to support their learning needs. My students are English Language Learners and they represent several ethnic backgrounds. The Tubman is a high poverty school and we service a large homeless population. The students I work with are resilient and despite their challenges they always strive to do their best.My students are special because they give one hundred percent effort to their learning. The students are hard working and really want to success in all academic areas.

My Project

My student all have a desire to learn how to read. These materials will give the students the opportunity to read and practice literature on their independent levels. The student are easily embarrassed to be behind in reading while most of their peers are reading chapter books. The materials will make a difference for the students because they can learn how to read in an engaging and fun way with the Ipads and with primary phonics book, which are created for students with reading disabilities. By having these materials the students will become more confident readers and hopefully develop a love for reading.
