We are the second largest school in our district that directly impacts our military community along with low income and ESE communities. We house grades PK-8 in our buildings, including the second-highest population of special needs children, ESE children, and children who have a father, mother, or both parents in the military. This makes us a population that serves military families and military students. Our school directly impacts the military community it is built around. These demographics make our school a very diverse population.
Our school is also a Title One school which means the majority of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
Some are displaced while others are homeless. To give these students the opportunities they all deserve, we must provide a quality learning environment. Being Title One, those essentials are few and far between.
Our students are bright, they are resilient, and they strive to be the best they know how to be, but they also want to be more than that. It is our responsibility to make those things happen for them, no matter what it takes.
My Project
Please help give my students the dinosaur egg kits that are reusable once sanitized, for our dinosaur unit, the butterfly garden for our lifecycle unit and the gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers to purchase learning resources to go along with these two science lessons and more. We are getting students daily coming from online learning and our materials are running low. We need to provide one to one learning opportunities as we cannot share materials. Every child has to have their own center. We can switch them up once sanitized, but we cannot work in groups. The teachers pay teachers gift card is a win for all. This is a site where teachers create learning resources for other teachers to purchase. I purchase and a teacher wins as they are funding more for their classroom through their earnings. There are numerous centers and items being created daily on that site that are valuable to us that don't have the technological skills to do so. Our classroom needs additional science materials for every student to succeed. These would be amazing and a fantastic additional to what we do have. Thank you for looking!
