This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am living my dream and so fortunate to work in an urban, integrated English Language classroom consisting of 26 wonderful second graders of all different abilities, ethnicities, and races. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, many face poverty, and unimaginable challenges at home. My goal is to provide my students with a safe, caring, nurturing, and loving environment in the time they spend in my classroom.

The stars of my dream are little mathematicians, scientists, readers, and authors; they are eager learners with creative imaginations.

They are always investigating and questioning, trying to feed their hungry minds.

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers has been a valuable resource in the classroom. I've used the site for years to purchase collaborative center activities in alignment with the Common Core State Standards. Printing cutting and laminating these resources has made them last for years. Unfortunately, these center activities and collaborative tools had to take a backseat during distance learning and will likely go underutilized this year due to the current social distancing guidelines.

During distance learning I once again looked to TPT for resources that would provide my students with hands-on activities that could be completed at home digitally.

Spending twelve to fifteen hours a day on the computer creating lessons was extremely difficult but finding quality interactive digital resources on TPT certainly made things easier. In these uncertain times, one thing is certain, new creative ways for helping students interact with rigorous content will be needed. Any donation you're willing to give would be greatly appreciated.
