Help me give my students tools needed to grow hands-on skills & make meaningful connections through our garden. These tools will help keiki build & care for this space by teaching self-belonging rooted in Hawaiian values & SEL.

My Project
Our school garden—Mala Ulu Ola (Garden of Growth Mindset)—is more than just a place to grow plants. It’s a living classroom where students nurture self-awareness, connection to community and self-belonging, guided by the values of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Nā Hopena A‘o.
To bring our vision to life, we need essential garden supplies to help our keiki engage deeply with nature and each other.
This includes:
• Garden gloves to protect small hands while planting and weeding.
• A composter to teach sustainability and responsibility through caring for the ‘āina.
• Durable garden tools and a hose for watering and upkeep.
• A hose nozzle and power drill set to help us build and maintain garden beds, signage, and learning stations.
• A garden storage bench that doubles as a place to reflect, rest, and connect with peers.
These tools will help students collaborate, build confidence, and express care for their environment—cultivating not only plants but also strong relationships and healthy mindsets.
