My Project

Donations of rock and mineral kits will bring our 5th grade science lessons to life in meaningful and engaging ways. Instead of only reading about Earth’s materials, students will be able to see, touch, and compare real specimens, helping them better understand concepts like hardness, texture, color, and how rocks are formed.

These hands-on experiences support deeper learning and make abstract ideas easier to grasp.

Students will practice observation, classification, and critical thinking skills as they investigate each sample. The kits also encourage curiosity and discussion, allowing students to ask questions and make connections to the world around them.

With these materials, every student has the chance to feel like a scientist, building confidence and excitement for learning while developing a stronger foundation in Earth science.
