Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students get so excited every time I purchase a few inexpensive books for our classroom library that they race to be the first to read them. Imagine their thrill when I present them with brand new iPod Touches! Wow! My intelligent and hard-working 5th grade students deserve the best in education.

A diverse group of gifted, below basic, and mainstreamed special ed.

students in my classroom calls for major planning for differentiation! Learning stations seem to be the key to target their special needs where they are grouped according to their Lexile ability for reading and number sense aptitude for math. Though we have a school computer lab we visit once a week for 30 minutes, many of my students are not exposed to technology at home. I believe that iPod Touches will open a whole new world for them. Technology will enhance and support every child's learning experience in my classroom. We are a Title 1 School and 100% of our students receive free lunch. My goal is to deliver the curriculum aligned with Common Core Standards to my highly motivated students through differentiation, inquiry, challenge, and technology.

My Project

All small groups will have the opportunity to use the set of 6 iPod Touches throughout the day. Students will use the iPods for leveled reading practice, reading for pleasure, research and reference, solving leveled mystery stories, puzzles, and math riddles, reinforcing basic math facts, taking pictures of class projects to update our grade level website, playing critical thinking games, and so much more!

Your donation will impact hundreds of students and will greatly increase their educational achievement.

The interactive learning tools and applications will surely keep my students engaged and challenged, students will be eager to come to school each day, and most importantly, classroom differentiation in accordance with current technology will be in full force! The students deserve to use the most up-to-date technology available. Please consider making a difference in my classroom by donating!
