Coming to a new school is exciting for both students and teachers. This is my first year at my current school. I was unsure what to expect being at a new school and grade level, but teaching 2nd grade has been fun for many reasons.
My students come in everyday excited to learn.
All of my students are 7 or 8 years old, which means everything fascinates and intrigues them. They want to know more and have so many questions. My hope with this project is to give my students opportunities to explore their learning in ways that continue to foster the natural excitement they have for school.
My Project
Second graders would amaze you. All of the students come in at such different places in their learning. They cover a range of learning. My hope is to have iPads available to students to help suit the different needs that they have. I have some students that require assistive technology to complete everyday assignments, and others that need to dive deeper in extension projects. These iPads would be a tool to differentiate. For some it might make a task less frustrating, for others, more exciting.
An application for this technology in the near future would be our presentation on Earth Day.
My class has been working with another class across the hall to build a garden. We hope to share our garden with our campus on Earth Day. These iPads would be instrumental in educating our campus on Earth Day. We hope to create stop motion and Claymation videos.
I have included headphones and cases for the iPads to help protect the new technology and to make it more functional.
