My Students

We are a 2nd-grade classroom from small town South Dakota. We are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers... They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.

My Project

The variety of seating options I am requesting will be used by a second-grade classroom full of diverse learners for years to come. The seating choices give students the ability to find a learning environment that enables them to work more comfortably. They will have the option to sit, stand, or wiggle while learning.

Simple in-class activities can boost performance.

Studies suggest that children who participate in short bouts of physical activity within the classroom have more on-task behavior, with the best improvement seen in students who are least on-task initially.

Wiggle seats, ball chairs, and wiggle bands allow students who have trouble sitting still to move without distracting other students. The adjustable activity table can be used for students to stand or sit on the floor. Your donations will go to supplying a variety of flexible seating options for a group of diverse learners.
