This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A typical day in my classroom involves my students sitting and moving around the classroom. Sitting still is overrated and moving around is how my students learn best. I am working hard on adjusting my classroom to meet the needs of all of my students.

My students are full of energy and love to move around.

I have a few students with ADHD, some Intellectually disabled, and a few others that just cannot sit still. Our school is full of fun, hands on activities that promote moving around and working "Out of the seats."

My Project

My goal is for the students to be able to pick the seating that works best for them. By having multiple seating options, my students will be able to have the flexibility to work comfortably and stay on task. My students will be able to try out the different seating arrangements and find one that helps them learn and stay focused best.

This donation will help improve my class because my students need the ability to make choices.

I truly believe in having a warm and inviting classroom. No two students learn the exact same way, so why should they all sit the exact same way? They should not be expected to sit still in a single chair and not move around. I truly believe in changing up the seating arrangements to meet the needs of all of my students in the classroom.
