Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, enthusiastic, motivated, learners. These first graders are outgoing and eager to learn. They continue to impress me everyday with how much knowledge they absorb in the classroom. Though we have big imaginations as a team, we are limited in our underfunded and under resourced schools. I teach in a Title I, public school in which the majority of my students experience poverty.

My Project

I am currently teaching in an underfunded, Title I school. My classroom is always composed of a diverse group of students with differing backgrounds and prior knowledge levels. I also teach English learners and students with special needs. When planning for instruction, I notice my students fall into various skill levels and need different levels and methods of support. My students need differentiated, modified reading materials to help accommodate their specific needs. I hope to attain enrichment activities that are motivating, engaging, and supply to the various skill sets I have in my classroom. With this Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I will be able to support other educators and learn from their professionally crafted materials. I want to support my students' guided reading skills by having a variety comprehensive literary texts modified to their own personal reading level. This gift card will also allow me to purchase interactive notebook materials to inspire my students to write creatively in their own personalized journals.
