Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My First grade students are mostly from low income families. A majority of my students have various needs and learning issues. I work in a co-taught classroom with a Special Education teacher. We work with students in small groups throughout the school day. My students have IEP's and special learning needs.

Reading and math small group center time differentiate student learning to help my students with various needs.

The use of technology, centers and white boards will be used to engage my students. Also, the use of these tools will allow me to individualize student learning and informally assess student growth.

My Project

My students will use the Boogie Boards and White Boards during center time. The laminating pouches will be use to create materials for the centers. All materials will be used during the small group time.

The Boogie Boards will be used to make Words Their Way and practice phonics skills.

Students can work on addition and subtraction skills through the use of number bonds and picture drawings.

The White Boards and Laminating pouches are extra materials that I will use during the same small group centers. Students will use the White Boards daily to practice a variety of skills. The laminating pouches will be used to make differentiated centers.
