My Project
Our students are bright, creative, and full of potential—even when they don’t always see it in themselves. Many of them are still learning that being different is not a weakness, but a strength. That’s why Fish in a Tree is the perfect story for our class right now.
This book will help our students see themselves in Ally, a character who learns to embrace her learning differences and discover her hidden talents.
Through Ally’s journey, our students will explore themes of perseverance, self-worth, and the power of supportive teachers and classmates.
With this project, we’ll be able to provide every student with a copy of the novel, along with discussion guides and activities that spark reflection and connection. These resources will allow us to build empathy, literacy skills, and confidence in readers who may not always feel like they “fit the mold.”
We love our students for their resilience, their sense of humor, and the way they lift each other up. With your help, we can continue to build a classroom where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed—just like Ally.
