Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my student’s come from low income families. Their space is very limited and often they do not have a place to read quietly.
I want to create a special place in my class for them to be alone to process their feelings or simply get some alone time to read their favorite book, is my goal for them.
By having a book shelf accessible to them and some comfy reading chairs I know this little calming/reading area will be a hit in my class.
I wholeheartedly believe that as their teacher, teaching academics is simply not enough these days. We need to foster healthy mindfulness and awareness.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
