Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from all over the world and are here to create better lives for themselves and their families. I learn from my students every day! My students are eager to learn the English language and want to make a difference for themselves and others around them. They have such beautiful stories and they all want to be given a chance! They are kind and are willing help others at school. While they may not speak English, they are motivated to learn and contribute what they can to class discussions.

My Project

We read and write so much in our class. Using the internet isn't always feasible for students because my students do not have individual computers and they are not able to use their phones in class. Students need to see the word that they're looking up in action. Using a dictionary helps students understand how the word is used in context in their home language and the target language: English. I have been in need of dictionaries all year long and I was only able to provide a few at my own expense. Thank you for taking the time to read about my project!
