Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My energetic, students are a group with smart minds. They challenge themselves to grow their knowledge every day. This year I have a class full of extremely intelligent children who are working day in and day out to strive for excellence. As a grade level, third-grade teachers have looped with the students to third grade, so we have to find a way to keep them thriving.
This group of kids has every barrier set up against them in their personal lives and they come to school and are successful despite all the odds against them, with 90% of our school being low income.
The students in my class all come from low-income families whose parents barely speak the English language but are still striving to be the best. These loving, caring, sweet, persistent children are eager to learn more each day.
My Project
A dictionary can be a very resourceful and important tool during language learning. A good dictionary can help you understand your subject better, improve your communication and improve your knowledge of the language by making sure you are using words correctly.
With the help of Spanish dictionaries my students can learn to work with and use words to open a world of knowledge.
Studying words, prefixes, suffixes, root meanings, synonyms, and antonyms helps the understanding of known and new words. Help me give my students the skills needed to work with languages in a more beneficial manner through the use of bilingual and monolingual dictionaries as well as a learner dictionary and a subject-specific dictionary.
