Diary of an Amazing 4th Grade Class: Hunting for Books

Help me give my students graphic novels to be used to help them write their own graphic novel about their life!

My Students

My students are a very special group of children. We are the epitome of a melting pot school. We have children from five out of the seven continents.

Each child brings something special from their culture to the classroom.

Our class is also filled with a variety of different types of learners. They are always striving to do their best. We work hard but have fun doing it. The children love to read graphic novels but have a limited inventory to choose from in our class library,

My Project

My students absolutely love graphic novels. Unfortunately, the children are passing around and reading the same books repeatedly. I would love the opportunity to provide my students with brand new graphic novels that are sure to peak their interest.

The graphic novels in this project will help my children reclaim their love of reading.

Unfortunately, we are in the height of test prep season and the children are reading many test prep passages that are ruining that love.

For the month of June our writing topic is to create our very own graphic novel. These graphic novels will be based on their life and important social issues that affect their life. The children will use the books from this project as mentor texts to help with their writing.
