My Project

This project explores how we can use dialysis tubing and specially designed clamps to model parts of the human digestive system, making it easy to study how nutrients and waste move through the body. Dialysis tubing, a semi-permeable membrane, acts like our intestines by allowing only certain molecules to pass through, while blocking others. This lets us investigate how the digestive system absorbs nutrients while leaving waste behind.

The dialysis tube clamps are key to the setup, as they help securely seal off the ends of the tubing, allowing students to test different liquids and solutions without leakage.

With these tools, students can observe processes similar to digestion, such as how small molecules (like glucose) pass through the tubing, while larger molecules (like starch) do not.
