Dialogue Journals are a restorative way to inspire young and developing writers. Students, especially Multilingual Learners, are often hesitant to write because they are concerned about spelling, grammar, and other conventions, which they have not yet mastered. Dialogue Journaling is an exercise that allows students to write about whatever moves them. Writers are always invited to fold the page over if they would prefer to keep their work private on a given day. Feedback focuses on content and is always positive. There is no red ink. Rather, journals are a place for ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Help me share a practice that inspires a love of writing.
