My Project

Many of my students want to go into the medical profession in the future. This project gives them an opportunity to learn more about medical conditions, anatomy, and physiology that will help them be successful in their future careers.

My students thrive when learning STEM through hands-on activities.

With the Diagnosing Diabetes kit, students will test simulated samples to determine if the patients have diabetes. Students will research and develop a treatment plan for their patients. With the modeling the human heart kit, students make a clay model of the heart. With additional steps, students will also model various diseases. Students will engineer ways that could improve the lives of those living with medical conditions. We use thermometers for several experiments and need some additional ones to ensure every station has the proper number to avoid contamination. Students will use tape in their various biomedical engineering challenges. Storage is needed for materials.
