This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our transitional kindergarten class, play is learning. The students are at a crucial age of developing the foundational skills their little brains need to thrive. Before they can really begin learning how to read and write, they need hands-on experiences and play is the most powerful way to do that.
We want to expand our sensory bin fillers and add a loose parts center to our classroom.
These additions will align with our current curriculum units and seasonal holidays throughout the year.
Whether they're scooping, pouring, stacking, sorting, or imagining an entire new world from everyday objects, our TK students are actively building skills in critical thinking, fine and gross motor development, language development, and social interaction.
