Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach math to primary grades at an elementary school as the Primary Promise Intervention/Prevention Math teacher. My students are focusing on building foundations in mathematics. They are motivated and enjoy learning math in so many meaningful ways. I would love to bring more materials to keep their engagement in learning and to ultimately develop their proficiency in this content area.
My Project
These primary grade students will engage in more interactive learning opportunities using varied instructional materials such as Rekenrek (number rack with beads) and math games. These supplemental materials can be used at school and at home to maximize their usage and to create a greater impact in retaining conceptual understanding and numeracy skills.
My instructional aide and I will continue to motivate our students by incorporating interactive, challenging, and fun activities.
Students will participate in small groups to strengthen math concepts.
