Developing VISUAL SPATIAL Skill while Working with classmates!

Help me give my students some games that they can use to help teach them how to solve problems and work together. Many of these items such as Squigz and Plus Plus help develop visual spatial skills also!

My Students

I have been teaching for 24 years. This year I moved to 5th grade from 1st grade.

I would like to offer a wide variety of activities for my students to use during our Soft Starts.

Soft Starts are activities that invite students to "ease" into their day as well as help build visual spatial skills and build a classroom community!

My Project

The materials I am requesting are used in our Soft Starts. Soft Starts are a way for the students to start the day working together and having some fun. Soft starts are board games, card games, play dough, or building items. By having the kids "ease" into the day with Soft Starts, I have noticed they are happier and thus, more engaged for learning. Kids today are often overwhelmed with busy schedules and don't have a lot of time for "free play" with their peers. Soft Starts allows them to choose activities they want to do in the morning. This also helps build a stronger classroom community!
