Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Inspiration can come in many forms. A growing musician is inspired by amazing sounds! I want to bring sounds to these students that they don't hear anywhere else in their world. They have very little opportunity to hear live Symphony musicians so I hope to bring that sound to them.
My students are beautiful and brilliant 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in a large city.
Our school is part of a large urban school district. The population of our school is economically challenged and racially diverse. We attained "recognized" academic status in our state this past year due to the students' and teachers' hard work. Our band program has grown to 200+ students and we are making an impact in the lives of these students and the life of our school and community.
My Project
Thinking critically and analytically! That is what we are trying to produce in our students. The sound system we are requesting will make a difference in the quality of instruction we can deliver and the learning experience of the children. If a young lady is learning to play the flute or clarinet or any other instrument how will she know what a good sound for that instrument is unless she hears it?! She won't! This tool would allow us to bring accurate sounds to the students ears and minds. It helps us teach them to think critically and analytically about the product they are producing.
