This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever watch a puppet show? There is something that draws you in instantly. My students also have the same reaction when I use a puppet to sing, tell a story, or just talk to them. It takes only a few items to spark their creativity while they are learning in preschool.

My students are a wonderful group of preschoolers.

They come from low income families, but despite their socio-economic circumstances they are always eager to learn and experiment with hands-on activities. My goal as a teacher is to provide them with the best materials to develop their natural curiosity. Puppets can provide them with hours of fun and knowledge as they develop their attention span and language skills, as a group during circle time, or individually during center play time.

My Project

With the puppets that I'm requesting my students can make them sing along, talk in front of their peers, pretend to be insects flying around, etc. These puppets will foster social interaction, thinking and language skills, role playing, imagination, and much more. Very soon we will begin our science themes that include bugs and insects, and my students will have the opportunity to use the puppet theater and the puppets to explain concepts as they interact with each other.

Play is a very important part of my students' lives.

Through play they develop their imagination and their social skills that are key for their development. The theater and the puppets will bring that dimension of fun and magic during center time while helping my students grow to their full potential.
