Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a wonderful place to learn. Students come from low income homes. I teach ELL and diverse learners this school year. Students are very respectful and eager to learn. They are always willing to help each other. Our class environment is one of respect for their teacher and their classmates. Students work very well together! I am very fortunate to work at such an amazing school with students who work so hard and want to be successful! They truly want to learn.
My Project
Students love the 2 novels that we use for our reading curriculum. Both Ramona Quimby and The Boxcar Children books will replace old and damaged books. Both novels are loved by the students as we use them to teach character traits, vocabulary, writing, and reading comprehension. The dry erase boards are used a lot during math. Students use the boards to solve critical math problems and to show their work and strategies. We do not have a grammar or spelling series for the students. The resource books will provide me a resource for weekly grammar and spelling practice aligned to the third grade curriculum.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
