I have to currently make a lot of copies for students to practice reading comprehension. These comprehension journals would allow them to practice daily. It will give them the opportunity to read daily and practice comprehension skills. It will help them to become critical thinkers. Since all students would have the same reading comprehension journal, it would give students the chance to discuss their thinking with a partner when they complete their daily comprehension activities. They could take their journals home to read aloud to their parents and discuss what was done in class. I could also use them during guided reading sessions.
