Developing Fine Motor Skills for Special Education Class (Ages 4-5)

Help me give my students (special needs pre-k) materials to practice, strengthen, and grow their fine motor skills in order to be successful in kindergarten.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am requesting these items to help my special needs pre-k students develop their fine motor and pre-writing skills. My students are starting their education early and it is crucial for them to develop these skills in order to be successful in kindergarten and further grades.

The pencils and pencil grips will help the students learn how to use writing tools to write letters, numbers, and draw shapes.

My students will be using plastic scissors to practice their cutting skills. These scissors are safe to cut paper. It will not cut skin, hair or clothes.

The laminator will help cut down on the amount of papers to print. The students will be able to reuse the worksheets and practice their pre-writing skills until they have reached mastery.

The dry erase crayons will be used with the laminated worksheets. These type of crayons are easier to use and less messier than the dry erase markers.

Help me provide my students with these fine motor and pre-writing tools needed to develop their fine motor skills. It will help them become stronger learners and have a solid foundation for their future every day tasks.
