Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are Hispanics from different Central and South American countries. Most of them are 6 years old. We have a multicultural classroom because our families have different backgrounds. Many families have recently come to the United States and have kept their culture.
My students are creative, energetic, very well behaved, and love to learn.
They come to the school ready to have their breakfast and start their day full of fun while learning.
The academic proficiency of my students is below an acceptable level. They are beginning to recognize letter names, sounds, and syllable formations in order to complete the writing and reading process.
My Project
The books that I am requesting for my students will help them to improve their academic ability to read and write. The books will be used in the classroom library center and the students will practice reading those books during the independent and partner reading session.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' skill understanding of competency in authentic, meaningful reading and writing process.
By implementing the library center in our classroom my students will have the opportunity to read a big variety of books and expand their knowledge about different themes.
Yet, I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks in advance!
