My Students

3rd Grade is a year of amazing growth for students. Students work diligently on learning their multiplication facts, writing detailed stories, and working on reading skills. All of this could not be possible without the support of community members and parents.

My class of 23 students is filled with many different personalities and backgrounds.

I have students of different cultures, as well as different beliefs. Our school is made up almost 400 students who try to embody our 3 major school rules of being respectful, responsible, and safe. Every day, teachers encourage students to dream, believe, think and achieve.

My Project

Many of my students are still working on foundational reading skills. This struggle impacts their ability to move on to comprehension of text. My students want to be like their peers and working on the same skills. The same is true for math. They have learned so many procedures for various concepts that that knowledge is all jumbled in their brains.

With the addition of StoryWorks Jr and DynaMath, my students will have the opportunity to help close the gaps in their learning.

StoryWorks Jr is geared for 2nd, 3rd and struggling readers in the upper grades. They offer engaging, high interest stories that are on their independently and instructional reading levels.

DynaMath helps make math meaningful while building skills my students need now and in the future. They offer real world math applications using nonfiction text (the integration of reading and math is critical in building skills). DynaMath builds conceptual understanding and reinforces multiple-step problem solving strategies.
