My Students
All students are special and deserve the very best educational opportunities no matter what! Each of my students has talents and abilities that will grow and flourish when provided with these learning opportunities. 85% of the students on our campus fall into the economically disadvantaged category. 75% of our students are minorities. This, however, does not mean they should receive inequality in education.
My hope is to eliminate the achievement gap for my students and provide them with the 21st century skills they will need to be successful.
I will teach my students key elements in creative and critical thinking, collaboration and teamwork skills, and problem solving. They are the future of this country and should not have to settle for anything other than the best learning environment.
As educators, we must remember that we are training our students for jobs that have not yet been created. Providing them with these 21st century skills is the best way to ensure they are a positively contributing society as they grow up.
My Project
Using these Sphero Robots in the classroom will not only help develop necessary 21st Century skills, they will cross reference learning in all STEM classes. It is important that my students learn to think critically, collaborate, and problem solve while learning to work with others.
My students are so excited to be able to take responsibility for their own learning.
They are working on ways to incorporate activities that will bring in ELA, Social Studies, and Art as well as Science and Technology. With these robots, they will also be able to participate in competitions with students from other schools throughout the district.
