Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in my Destination Imagination group are true leaders. They have done what no students before them have done at our school: they started a Destination Imagination Team. These students have faced many challenges and setbacks being the first McConnell Middle School Team, but have remained positive throughout and are now in the second year of being a team. These students work incredibly hard before and after school hours. They remain positive and are constantly encouraging one another to never give up.

My Project

If my students are able to attend the four-day Global Competition with Destination Imagination, they will have many opportunities. They will have a chance to compete with others students worldwide.

My students will get to participate in interactive exhibits, pin trading, skills workshops, and international events.

Participation in this trip will make a difference by providing my students with invaluable STEM-related training. My students will be able to take what they learn from this experience and apply it to their daily school life which in turn will take their learning to another level.

The event's focus is on teamwork, creativity, technology, science, math, engineering, and real-life problem-solving.
