My Project
Not everyone comes to school with a full belly. Every day I see dozens of students who lack the energy and the persistence to make it through their school day. The big factor is food. Not all of our students have access to healthy snacks and foods at home and it really effects their performance academically.
In my school many students seek out food throughout the day.
They need this fuel to keep their little motors running right. Empty stomach’s often lead to emotional struggles preventing students from accessing academics and navigating daily tasks. Sometimes a short break and a snack can make the biggest difference in someone’s day.
I need help to make sure that our students have the healthy energy they need to be successful. These snacks will help so many children worry less about food and keep their young minds focused on their future.
Healthy enriched bars and filling carbohydrates are what they crave. My cart is filled with snacks that are low in sugar and high in nutritional value. These are the types of snacks that have staying power and they are exactly what my students need to fill the gap between meals.
