Help me give my students access to this desperately needed printer/copier so I can provide my them with necessary handouts for vocab, grammar, worksheets, and tests. My school's printer/copier is extremely unreliable & always broken.
I teach a fantastic group of middle school students in Houston, TX. The majority of our students come form low income households, which is why I only require them to purchase a binder, dividers, and notebook paper for my class. I do give lots of supplemental handouts so the students' binder for class is essential. I do binder checks on a regular basis so my students have learned their binder is a necessary and important item for success in my class. There are limited printers and copier access at my school and all of them breakdown regularly. In order to provide my students with regular and necessary handouts, I need a reliable printer and copier for my classroom. Access to a dependable printer and copier will make such a difference for my students.
My Project
I teach a foreign language to middle school students. I need to be able to provide essential daily handouts to my students but we do not have working, reliable printers and copiers at my school. There are only a few printers and copiers and of those, most or all are always broken, malfunctioning, or being repaired. I create these ancillary documents and handouts to supplement the students' textbook. These necessary documents include: vocabulary sheets, grammar worksheets, verb charts, etymology word root practice sheets, cultural handouts and questions, plus quizzes and tests. Because I provide the students with so many ancillary handouts, they are required to keep a binder where all their documents are stored. We organize the binders as a class and I do regular binder checks to ensure the students are keeping up with their handouts.
