it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are unique and will benefit from this donation. I have an interactive learning classroom for ELLs and bilingual learners for all three grades to expand their language abilities by using media and visuals.
Exposing students to creative online projects is great for them because it tends to offer opportunities for low-stakes (yet still high-concept) communication-based activities.
For example, some students can benefit from practicing their writing skills online through Teams or Word and other apps. Also, keep in mind that lots of other digital-creation mediums can offer fun language-building practice, from video production to podcasting and digital design. One of those things I would love to use this desktop for is to create an interactive daily journal for my students.
I always find myself finding something that suits my students' ages, language abilities, and interests online and I would love to have a computer to be able to meet their needs in a more innovative way. Students can stay interactively learning even if they miss a day; also, if there is a need for a substitute teacher to cover me, the substitute will be able to access apps students will be using regularly because the desktop will stay set up permanently in my classroom. My students are the right candidates for this funding. Thank you to Nevada COVID relief funding for providing students and teachers with what is needed to see students flourish.
