Desks Will Help Language Learners Write

Help me give my students a writing desk. Currently, we only have chairs in our world language classroom and it is difficult to write/type without desks. Students will be able to work more efficiently and maintain better posture.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our World Language class, we currently have seating, but we do not have any tables to use. When it is time to type something, students use their Chromebooks on their laps. If they need to refer to something while typing, they balance the computer on one knee while juggling the other documents or resources on the other knee. It is not good for efficiency or for the student's posture. Similarly, when students have worksheets or are handwriting something, they collect a clipboard before starting their work to have a hard surface to write on. Not having desks is a challenge.

These portable desks will allow students to spend more time working and being productive rather than shuffling all their materials and working hunched over.

Please help me fund this project. I would love to take their language learning to the next level, but it's hard to do that without all the essentials.
