My Students
Each time we start a new activity, I tell my students to "Show me ready!' The children in my classroom ARE ready to learn. They are an eager bunch of young learners.
We don't always have all of the supplies we need, but our enthusiasm makes up for it.
My children are mostly first generation Americans, with very little educational support from home. We try to make every hour of the school day count. My students are eager to learn and to try new things. They are encouraged to be risk takers.
Our school encourages a sense of community. The children often work in small groups. They are encouraged to help each other in and out of the classroom.
My Project
Earlier in the year, I created a project through Donors Choose to get desks for my students in order to help us socially distance. We had tables and the children were practically sitting on top of each other. Since that project was completed, new students have entered my classroom.
I only have 25 desks but need enough seating for 32 children.
Having seven more desks will make a huge impact on my class. The children will each have their own space for their materials and themselves.
