This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Children, especially my kindergarteners, love choice. They like to choose whether to sit at a desk or use space on the floor. Education has shifted to encourage collaboration and student engagement. Conversations become more dynamic, leading to deeper understanding and better communication skills. Have seating that enables working in pairs or small groups is very valuable in the classroom.
When students have a say in where they sit, they feel more empowered and engaged in the learning process.
Having the ability to break away from traditional rows of desks allows students to choose their learning space based on their preferences and needs. Having a choice in seating fosters student independence. My goals for this project is to provide a variety of seating for my students.
