My Students
I have the best kindergarten students ever and I want to make their learning experience the best ever. I teach in a Title I school and want my children to have the best possible way to learn about caring for others as well as themselves. This past school year has been challenging and I want them to have an exciting new way to learn how to share and regulate strong feelings.
My students, with their pets, will have a positive way to start their morning on a positive note was as they play with and tell their desk pets how they are feeling in the moment.
In this crazy time in the world, it is so important to praise my students for kindness and working hard. What better way than to reward them with their own pet. These pets will be earned and children will have to love and take care of their pet. This is a wonderful way to teach them responsibility, kindness and strong work ethic as they earn their pet, pet home, food and toys for their special pet.
My Project
Desk pets a great classroom motivator for positive behavior. Desk pets are the perfect classroom pet, as they are the next best ting to having a classroom pet. Students can be rewarded a desk pet for being kind to friends, following classroom rules and routines, completing a difficult task or displaying any other positive behaviors. When they earn their pet they can decorate the their house anyway they wish. Children will also be collecting desk pet dollars (must be earned) for desk pet food, toys, blanket and toys for their pet. I believe my students will cherish their pet and will be something they will remember for years. At the end of the school year my students will continue to enjoy their pets at home.
