My Project

Hello. I am about to complete graduate work toward a Masters of Science in Restorative Practices with a focus on community engagement. It is my hope to expand my classroom reach through community interaction.

In this proposal, I am requesting graduate tuition for a course that will focus on designing extensive research in restorative practices.

The course will take place online. Pre-COVID, I never would have pursued an online degree, but now I have found this option to be rewarding in many ways. For example, I get to interact with scholars from all over the world. My mentor for the research project resides in Brazil.

The focus of my research will be climate change and animal rescue. I'll use what I learn to enrich my classroom through new avenues of study and new academic challenges. In particular, I would like to challenge students to do their own smaller research projects on climate change in our own geographical area. Unfortunately, we have witnessed significant changes including serious flooding over the last decade.
