I am a gypsy educator. My duties change as often as the wind. Part of my day involves teaching 7th & 8th-grade emerging bilingual students. Another part of my day involves working with our district's home study families. My Fridays include teaching art to our Community Day students, and yet another part of my day involves hosting our school site R & R room (Reflect & Reset-- providing a safe, nurturing environment for our middle school students to visit when needed to reset personally).
The students in our district face many challenges including economic and trauma, yet they also possess amazing resilience and grit.
Each day they come to school eager to engage with one another, our staff, and learning. As a community, we travel through the school year together... on a scholastic journey.
My Project
Our students face many challenges in life, yet they come to school each day ready to engage in learning and new opportunities. Art is used in my classroom to enrich their learning experiences. Please help me to put valuable, authentic art tools, like this E-Z Cut kit, in the hands of my students.
This kit will provide my CDS and ELD students an opportunity to experience printmaking at its finest.
This kit will allow my students to use authentic art tools to create individually designed prints. I hope to have them create block prints similar to those of Andy Warhol's Endangered Species. Our previous printmaking week was a wonderful experience and left us wanting more. The tools we used for that project were inexpensive and nothing like those in this kit.
